Blanc and Chiamparino visit the stadium

On the way leading to its birth, the new Juvenstu stadium had another special day today. The construction site was visited by two special guests linked to the city of Turin: Mayor Sergio Chiamparino and Urban Affairs Councillor Mario Viano.

The first citizen was accompanied by Jean-Claude Blanc, engineer Riccardo Abrate and members of the project and construction staff of the stadium. The visit was intended to see the way the works are progressing, at the end of which Blanc and Chiamparino spoke to journalists.

The Juventus president spoke of the situation: «We have less then 600 days to the inauguration of the stadium which, as per schedule, will be in July 2011. There is still a lot of work to be done and therefore it is important not to waste time. At the moment the dressing room part has already been constructed under the central stand and we have already started preparing the ground to erect the stands. These will start to become visible as from February or March and in summer 2010 we will see the roof. There are many companies working on the construction site and we are happy most of these are from Turin.

This last aspect, cannot but make Sergio Chiamparino smile: «It is a pleasure to see a team from Turin who has in the past worked on the Olympic games, working. It gives ample guarantee. This stadium is an important point in the re-qualification of this peripheral zone of the city which used to live for the match and which will return to finding enjoyment. In 2011 I will no longer be mayor but for me it would be a pleasure to be at the inauguration.
